Heartbreaking News: Jeff Tinley

Dear Friends of the Lake:

With heavy hearts and tears in our eyes we inform you of the passing of Jeff Tinley. A great friend, Friends of the Lake board member and tremendous human being, “JT” was a man of exceptional character and intellect. Though soft-spoken, he had the ability to light up a room with his grin and guide a conversation with his brilliance. He was a founding member of Friends of the Lake. His legal expertise and belief in our mission helped us navigate the many legal and political challenges we’ve faced, giving our small organization a larger voice and commanding presence. He will be sorely missed but always remembered! We know you all join us in sending love and prayers to his wife Mary and his family during this most difficult time.

A memorial service will be held at the Sacred Heart Church in Southbury this Friday, September 10th, at 11AM. His family is planning a reception at the Scatacook Shores Beach from 12:30 to 3pm.

We encourage all who are willing and able to join in a boat gathering at 2pm in front of Scatacook Shores to honor our dear friend, and a true FOTL hero, during the reception.
